Owners Tommy Cole and Roy Caires opened the first Alter store on Franklin Street in a very quiet Greenpoint Brooklyn back in February 2007. The original store housed a small selection of vintage and indie designer goods. Alter has since grown into a larger space, on the same block, with variety of  merchandise carefully chosen from nearly 100 brands and makers from around the globe.

We strive to offer everything from essential everyday wardrobe pieces to one of a kind designs, all with a fashion forward focus and a price point that doesn't break the bank.

Our Greenpoint shop has become an anchor in the community and developed a loyal customer base locally but also nationally.
